Family Photographer in Hampshire

Real photos of real families. Sessions around Lee-on-Solent, Gosport, Fareham and the South Coast.

Real Photos of Your Actual Family

You know the ones, everyone standing in a line on a beach, smiling for so long their faces hurt. The kids are done after four minutes. Someone's crying. The parents are quietly stressed. And the photos look exactly like everyone was stressed and the kids were done.

That's not really what you want, is it.

My sessions are looser than that. The kids can run about. Things can get a bit chaotic. I'm not going to stop everyone every five seconds to rearrange arms. The best shots almost always come when people have forgotten there's a camera, and that's honestly what I'm after.

What a Session Actually Looks Like

We'll have a quick chat beforehand about what kind of setting suits your family and what time of day works with your kids. That bit matters more than people think. A session with a two-year-old at 3pm on a hot day is a different beast to the same kid at 9am.

  • No forced poses (maybe one or two group shots to keep the grandparents happy)
  • Lots of movement, I'll keep things going so kids stay natural and engaged
  • Mix of candid moments and some relaxed group shots
  • Private online gallery within a week
  • Prints, wall art and photo books available to order

Hampshire Locations for Family Sessions

Lee-on-Solent Beach

Loads of space, brilliant light at golden hour and kids love the beach. The beach huts end is my favourite spot — better groynes, better light, easier parking.

Stokes Bay

Underrated for family sessions. Quieter than Lee, nice pebble beach, enough open space that kids can properly run about.

Wickham Woodland

Fresh green canopy in spring, dappled light on an overcast day. Works well if your kids like climbing on things, which they always do.

Alverstoke Country Park

Open green space close to Gosport with room to roam. Good for active families who want space.

Portchester Castle

Castle, beach, open fields and a play area nearby. One of the most versatile family locations in Hampshire.

Your Garden or Home

An underrated option, especially with younger kids. Familiar surroundings, no logistics, no parking nightmare.

Things Families Usually Ask

All ages, newborns right through to teenagers (who are a whole different challenge, honestly). Sessions are paced around the youngest family member.
We reschedule at no charge. I'll keep an eye on the forecast and we'll have a chat if it looks dodgy. Some overcast days are actually better — softer light, no squinting.
Broadly co-ordinating tones rather than matching outfits, earthy, muted colours work well outdoors. Wear something comfortable that you'd actually wear on a nice day out. Don't buy new outfits for it, seriously, it always looks a bit stiff.
Almost certainly yes. Feral kids make the best photos.
Absolutely, just let me know at booking so I can factor in the extra people for timing.
Within two weeks. Usually quicker.

Looking for individual portrait or headshot sessions? I cover those too — see the portrait photography page for full details and pricing.
